A huge forest fire, caused by a lightning strike at Mount Lubra, decimated much of the Grampians National Park in January this year. Bush fire is a natural part of Australian life, so many plants have adapted to survive. After any bush fire, these Kangaroo's Tail plants take advantage of conditions. They can grow very large, up to 3 or 4 metres in height.
