Another mosque
Actually, this is the Hagia Sofia (or Ayasofia) Museum, which was built in about 532 a.d. And spent some of its time as a mosque and some as a church. The dome is huge, and was only surpassed in size when St Peter's was built at the Vatican nearly a thousand years later. Very impressive.

Just got back from Istanbul (as far as Heathrow, anyway)
This is the Dolmabahçe Mosque, just down the road from our hotel. Later I'll post more photos and a full story, when I'm back home & on a keyboard I can use with more than one finger at a time.
This post should have been before the one below, but they both went from my mobile at the same time, and blogger didn't differentiate.

Had to post this one, though
This is the famous Blue Mosque, seen from inside the courtyard. Again, I'll post more photos, including the blue tiled interior that gives the mosque its name.

Brixham buccaneer festival 2010
