Geeks anonymous

Admittedly, they are are playing games, but it looks so sad; sitting there, with back to back laptops. Chris and his son Rob would soon be chased off the table so it could be filled with huge amounts of food.

Family outing to local restaurant

At our local italian restaurant, La Capannina. Left front to right we have: Denise's mum Phyllis; nephew Rob; niece Katherine; Denise; Denise's sister Julia, and brother-in-law Chris. Frank the waiter was on his own apart from a new lad, so the service was a little slow at first. Everyone else must have been in early, because the place was nearly empty by 8.15! Anyway, the food was good, and we had a lovely time. Chris, Julia, Katherine and Rob had to set off home to Wiltshire the following day.

Chris and a toy wombat

For some reason Chris decided to put 'Brocky', the toy Wombat that I brought back from Australia with me, on his head. And then he sat still long enough to have his photo taken. Silly of him, really: was there any chance that this photo wasn't going to get posted? "None whatsoever", is the right answer :-)

Quiet in the office between christmas and new year

New version of Blogger

Well, I've migrated to the new, Google powered, blogger. I was panicking for a while, and I thought I wasn't going to be able to post photos directly from the phone anymore (there were notes on the site about this function only being available to US phone networks) but I managed to post the photo of Katherine eating christmas cake OK, so I guess we're back in business. Hooray!
Notice that I've changed the colours, and fiddled about with a few settings, but the address you use is just the same. I've set it to only show 20 photos per page, but there's the 'More' link at the bottom, and of course there's the 'Archive navigation' bar on the right.
We had Denise's sister Julia and her family (husband Chris, daughter Katherine, and son Robert) up for christmas, and were, of course, joined by Denise's mum, Phyllis, from across the road. We had a great time, and I'll post a few photos from their visit in a bit. I didn't take a lot of piccies, but I'll pick a couple and post them.
Anyway, hope you like the new style blog (I do), and keep checking back from time to time for new posts

Mmm ... Christmas cake!

Our neice Katherine is enjoying a particularly large slice of christmas cake, made by my beloved, Denise. Katherine's apparent happiness may have something to do with all the brandy that Denise has added to that cake over the last three months ...

Denise's running medals

The bedroom's done at last!

All we need now is a few pictures for those plain walls. I think it would have made a better picture if I'd switched on the bedside lights. I might try again once we've got all the proper bedding and better lights and so on.

Dave (left) doesn't like having his photo taken, apparently ...

...so he tries to ruin any photo he's in. So why did he pose with Alicja and Michael in the first place, then? :-);-)

Louisa's bon voyage do

She claimed she was looking after one of these drinks for a friend. Yeah, right. She's off back to Australia for a while, lucky so and so.

Not a bad photo from a phone camera!
