Saints warming up as the stadium fills

This photo makes it look like the view wasn't too brilliant. We were at the back of the top tier, but we were a lot closer than it appears here. The stadium isn't huge, and we actually had an excellent view. Saints would go on to beat Hull Kingston Rovers 50 points to nil! B-)

The Woodman Inn

This was our base for the Semi-Final Weekend. Nice food, good beer (real ale!) and excellent service. The bathroom could have done with a little bit of refurbishment, but nothing really to complain of.
Denise's bike (Kawasaki ZZR-600) is in the foreground, with mine just behind it.

The art of travelling light

This is my bike's little top-box full up for our weekend away in Huddersfield for the Challenge Cup semi-final.

Lily

Absolutely beautiful lily. This is in a pot near our back door. It's actually got two flowers now, but I thought I'd take this close-up, to show the detail on the petals. The scent's fantastic. A-choo!

Mike on holiday

Mike was foolish enough to send us a photo of himself on holiday, having a better time than us here at work. Of course, he didn't know I had started a weblog B-)

Denise on Ben Ledi

While we were all sweltering in the heat, D managed to find some rain, and took this photo of herself to prove it. She doesn't like this photo because it's 'unflattering', but I think the smile says it all.

The veg patch

Peas, leeks, runner beans, salad stuff, carrots and more

The greenhouse

This greenhouse would have an echo if it wasn't full of tomatoes!

Our first tomato!

Aww! Baby!

Belated introduction

The only reason I started this weblog is because my new phone (a Sony Ericsson K800i - oooh!) allows me to post photos to this blog site direct from the handset. Blogging is not something I have ever really had any interest in, but the idea of being able to make my photos available to friends and family immediately is most attractive. To date, my only involvement in the 'web community' has been as a taker, not a giver: eShopping, eBanking and finding out stuff. This will only be of interest to friends and family (if anyone) so if you look at this and find it boring, sorry, but that's all I've got!
There are only a couple of pictures posted just yet, but I hope to post more, particularly shots of the garden that my Denise has put so much work into. Her efforts are paying dividends, so it'll be nice to show it off.
I'm still a novice at this, so I still have to work out whether it is possible to include more than one photo in a post. For the moment it'll be one at a time - may be the best way, and it might turn out to be the only way. Certainly when posting directly from the handset, it seems to be limited to one photo at a time.
I've had the phone a few weeks now, and it's certainly lived up to the hype. Very good so far, and very few niggles. There are more than enough reviews of it out there, by people far more qualified than I, so I won't say any more about it, except to say that I agree with most of what's been said. Enough already! I don't intend to make this blog a big texty thing: it should be mostly photos of things I find interesting.

Acer

This is my beautiful variegated acer. I love the striking red bark

Roo-Bob & Custard

Caught on camera! Here's neighbour Bob polishing off the custard, after having done the same for the crumble :-)

New peas on the way

The vegetable garden is coming along, with peas just starting to fatten. There will never be enough for a meal, because we keep picking the pods as soon as they're fat, and eating the peas fresh off the vine!
More pictures soon ...
